Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Lumi Home collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when Customers, Cleaning Professionals, visitors, and other individuals interact with the Lumi Home Platform.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Lumi Home, we may collect account and identity information (such as name, email, phone number, credentials, and profile information); booking and service information (such as service address, ZIP code, service type, dates, times, access instructions, property information, and booking history); Cleaning Professional information (such as profile, service area, availability, experience, payout information, and verification information); transaction information (such as charges, refunds, adjustments, payout status, and transaction history); communications and support records; ratings and reviews; device and usage information (such as IP address, browser, device characteristics, operating system, pages or screens viewed, referring pages, timestamps, and interactions); and location information where needed for booking, matching, check-in, safety, fraud prevention, or no-show verification.

2. Payment Information

Payment transactions are processed using Stripe or its affiliates. Depending on implementation, Lumi Home may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, limited payment-method details, fraud signals, and related records while Stripe handles full payment-card information. Stripe processes information under its own privacy practices.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to create and administer accounts; match Customers with Cleaning Professionals; facilitate bookings; process charges, refunds, adjustments, and payouts; verify arrival or service events; provide customer support; investigate disputes, damage reports, fraud, abuse, and safety incidents; communicate about bookings and accounts; personalize and improve the Platform; maintain security; comply with law; enforce agreements; and, where permitted and consented to as required, conduct marketing and analytics.

4. Location Data

Lumi Home may use service addresses, approximate location, or precise device location when a user enables location-dependent features. For Cleaning Professionals, location/check-in information may be used to confirm arrival, support safety features, investigate customer lockouts/no-shows, prevent fraud, and administer bookings. Precise location will be collected and used only where the implemented feature requires it and subject to applicable permissions and law.

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information between Customers and Cleaning Professionals as reasonably necessary to arrange and perform a booking; to service providers supporting payments, hosting, communications, mapping, analytics, fraud prevention, identity or background verification, customer support, and security; to professional advisers; to government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security; and in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable protections.

6. Advertising, Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

Lumi Home will not claim that it does or does not “sell” or “share” personal information for statutory purposes until its final advertising, analytics, and data-sharing architecture is implemented and assessed. If Lumi Home engages in activity treated by applicable law as a sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising, Lumi Home will provide legally required notices, opt-out mechanisms, and recognition of applicable opt-out preference signals.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Lumi Home may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, analytics, performance, and, if later implemented, advertising. Where required, Lumi Home will provide choices or obtain consent for non-essential technologies.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining accounts, completing transactions, meeting tax and accounting obligations, resolving disputes, investigating fraud and safety incidents, enforcing agreements, and complying with law. Retention periods may vary by information type and legal requirement.

9. Security

Lumi Home uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you reside and whether applicable statutory thresholds and conditions are met, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include rights to know or access information, obtain a copy, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, and opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling activities. California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law. Lumi Home will not unlawfully discriminate against a person for exercising applicable privacy rights.

11. Privacy Requests

Where applicable, privacy requests may be submitted to legal@lumihome.app or through a dedicated privacy-request mechanism that Lumi Home may add to the Platform. Lumi Home may take reasonable steps to verify the requester’s identity and authority before completing a request. Claude Code should provide a visible Privacy Choices / Privacy Request entry in the footer and account settings once the workflow is implemented.

12. Children

Lumi Home’s Customer and Cleaning Professional accounts are intended for adults age 18 or older. The Platform is not intended for children to create service-provider or booking accounts. If Lumi Home learns that personal information was collected from a child contrary to applicable requirements, it will take appropriate steps.

13. Marketing Communications

Users may opt out of promotional email through the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those messages. Text-message marketing, if implemented, will follow applicable consent and opt-out requirements. Transactional messages necessary for bookings, security, or account administration may still be sent where permitted.
